The German-Israeli consortium was honored by high-ranking representatives from politics, business and science at this event organized by BayFOR. The Consul General of the State of Israel, Sandra Simovich, emphasized the German-Israeli cooperation and the Bavarian Minister of State for Digital Affairs, Judith Gerlach, spoke of a real future technology from Würzburg. In the laudatory speech by Prof. Sextl (Fraunhofer ISC), the merits of the three scientists who are now working together on the CloudCT project were once again emphasized. With funding from the most highly endowed European research prize, this interdisciplinary project involving 10 micro-satellites will create 3D models of clouds to support climate research and improve prediction models. This should above all contribute to a better understanding and analysis of global warming.
