We are thrilled to announce the start of FORNanoSat, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at advancing industrial production of nano-satellites. Officially launched on June 1, 2025, this project brings together a consortium of 5 research institutes and 13 industrial partners from Bavaria, backed by a €1.8 million grant from the Bavarian Research Foundation.
FORSatNano is a research project focused on developing industrial-scale manufacturing processes for nano-satellites. Officially launched on June 1, 2025, the initiative is supported by a €1.8 million grant from the Bavarian Research Foundation and brings together a consortium of five research institutions and thirteen industry partners from Bavaria. The project aims to enable the next generation of small satellites by advancing compact and lightweight designs, enabling networked satellite constellations for Earth observation and communications, promoting sustainable end-of-life strategies, and reducing production and operational costs.
Our project is powered by leading research institutes and industry partners, including:
With automated small-series satellite production and a web configurator simplifying customization, FORNanoSat will pave the way for the next generation of satellite technology.
